The Middle East Politics

This course provides students with a general introduction to the political, economic, and ideological dynamics of contemporary Middle Eastern states. The course will satisfy an undergraduate requirement (POLS 4365) of the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Texas at Tyler. The need to make Americans more aware of the Middle East grows greater every day. Both peace and our continued prosperity are strongly affected by events transpiring in the region. Through knowledge and understanding, citizens will be empowered to propose solutions to the areas complex problems. When you finish this course you will be able to think and speak objectively and effectively about the Middle East, Islam and the Arab world.

If you live out of town or cannot attend the orientation session scheduled by the university, please email me at mkho@tjc.edu or call me at 903-510-2279 as soon as you sign up to receive an alternate orientation packet/plan and your course password necessary to access your course information. If I do not hear from you before the orientation meeting, and you do not show up, I may drop you from the course to let students in from the waiting list.
