MEOC Services and Programs

As a MEOC member, you'll receive:

  • Access to MEOC's electronic bulletin board, providing timely answers to questions you post about resources, teaching strategies, and other related topics
  • A triannual newsletter containing valuable information about:
    - forthcoming conferences, workshops, grant opportunities, and trips
    - teaching strategies
    - announcements and reviews of newly released print, audiovisual, and electronic resources
  • An annually updated listing of organizations and resources focused on the Middle East
  • A membership directory complete with the names, mailing and email addresses, and telephone and fax numbers of your fellow MEOC members
  • Catalogues from publishers and distributors of books and other educational materials about the Middle East; special discounts offered to MEOC members; periodic mailings from selected outreach centers across the United States
  • For K-12 and community college teachers only - a special joint membership with the Middle East Studies Association (MESA), through which members receive all the benefits of MEOC membership plus the bimonthly MESA newsletter and MESA member discounts on conference registration

MEOC occasionally publishes resources for the K-12 community. The following titles are currently available:

  • Islamic Spain and Our Heritage: Al-Andalus 711-1492 A.D.
